Pentaprism is a photography competition based on the following themes:- Abandoned places Photographs of abandoned buildings or locations, capturing the eerie beauty of decay and neglect.
• Reflections Photographs that play with reflections, whether in water, glass, or other surfaces.
• Patterns Photographs that focus on patterns and repetition in nature or man-made structures.
• Night photography Photographs taken in low-light or night-time settings, often using long exposures to capture unique effects.
• Food photography Photographs of food and drink, emphasizing their colours, textures, and presentation in creative and artistic ways.
• Smoke and Fire Photographs that capture the beauty and danger of flames, smoke, and other sources of heat and light.
• Pets Photographs of pets, capturing their unique personalities and behaviours.
• Nature Photographs of landscapes ,flowers, animals, and other elements of the natural world.
EVENT RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. PARTICIPATION: This contest is open to all students up to postgraduate level. The entrant can be pursuing any course, but should be a student of an institution.
2. ENTRY FEE: ₹50 per photograph submitted.
3. SUBMISSION PROCESS: Submit photos Online By filling all the required details. The entrant should give his/her name, college/school name, the theme of submission, Receipt of payment and other details (if any) in the Form.
4. SUBMISSION TIME FRAME: From 10 AM, 15th March 2026 - 11 PM, 15th April 2026; the participant needs to submit his/her photos within the above-mentioned time.
5. SUBMISSION RULES:
The rules and regulations for submitting the photographs are as follows:
• Submission Limitations: Maximum number of photos allowed per participant is two (2).
• Dimensions: Images should be at least 1280 pixels wide and 960 pixels tall, with resolution above 96 dpi.
Standard aspect ratio of 1:1, 3:2, 4:3, 5:7 and 16:9 is accepted.
• File formats: Accepted file format is JPEG and JPG. Images should contain the EXIF data, incorporating the camera model, ISO-speed, F-stop, Exposure time etc.
File name should be the participant's full name.
• Post Processing: All color corrections and color manipulation based editing are allowed. However, no composite images are allowed.
• Copyright: All submissions by the participant should be solely copyrighted to the entrant only.
• Content Limitations: No watermarks, logos, frames or any other form of superimposed graphics is
allowed. Images containing any form of nudity, exhibiting works of violence, hurting any religion,caste etc.or any other forms of mature content are not allowed.
JUDGEMENT PARAMETERS:
As designated by the organizers of Phoenix 2026. Evaluation will be done based on composition of the photograph, its relevance in context to the topic, the photographer's technical aspects, editing skills, title and overall creativity.
• A winner and a runner-up will be given cash prizes and achievement certificates.
• E-certificates will be provided to all the participants.
• Shortlisted photographs will be shown in an Exhibition.
• Submissions will be subjected to disqualification if payment is not made by the participant.
• Images are not original and / or contain superimposed graphics or if the entry does not adhere to any of
the guidelines mentioned above.
• Discrepancies in the submission process, like exceeding the maximum submissions to be made, sending
photos without relevant details, or submitting.
